Educators and students collaborating with partners to do real-world science and enhance the health of the Columbia River watershed and beyond.
Mission Statement
Our mission is to connect students and teachers throughout the Columbia River Watershed with the federal, state, and local resource agencies, and organizations to do real-world science. Together they form a network of resource managers, scientists, informal educators, teachers, and students exploring how we simultaneously use and protect our watershed.

Network Goals
- Foster investigation and understanding of the Columbia River Watershed to promote watershed health.
- Grow and support The River Mile programs.
- Encourage an appreciation for the natural world and ecosystem processes.
- Instill critical thinking skills and abilities related to human interactions with the environment.
- Build connections among National Parks, agencies, project partners, educators, students, and the watershed to increase stewardship.
- Build a connection between school curriculum, community, and watershed resources.
- Provide resources and professional development in science education, inquiry, science content, and scientific practices.
- Provide rigorous training for formal and informal educators in science education.
- Provide networking tools to connect people and resources.
